The company's budget was managed in Excel. Requests from each division, approvals and actual spend were spread across many files, making it hard to know which figures were current and how much had been used.
We built an e-budgeting application covering the whole cycle: budget requests, multi-level approval, recording actual spend and reporting. Every division uses it, and it is connected to the company's finance application, so budgeting and bookkeeping work from the same data.
Every division requests and tracks its budget in one place, with a clear approval trail. The system is still in use today.
